Ocean Ridge Plantation Will Host The 2005 Carolinas PGA Seniors’ Championship

Sunset Beach, N.C. (PRWEB) August 20, 2005

Ocean Ridge Plantation will host the 2005 Carolinas PGA Seniors’ Championship on August 23rd and 24th, 2005. The event will be sponsored by Coastal Communities, Inc. of Holden Beach, N.C., owners and developers of several planned communities in Brunswick County including Ocean Ridge Plantation, Rivers Edge Golf Club & Plantation and Seawatch at Sunset Harbor.

Approximately 250 players will participate in the two-day, 36-hole event, which will be played on Ocean Ridge Plantation’s award winning Panther’s Run Golf Links and Tiger’s Eye Golf Links.

“We are honored to be hosting this prestigious event again this year,” said Philippe Bureau, Ocean Ridge’s Director of Golf. “Panther’s Run and Tiger’s Eye are both challenging and beautiful. Together, they make a great stage for the seniors to perform upon.”

The field for the Carolinas PGA Seniors’ Championship is comprised of professionals and amateurs. The professionals will compete for prize money and a crystal trophy.

Since its opening in 2000, Tiger’s Eye has received accolades from every major golf magazine including Golf Digest’s “America’s Top 100 Public Golf Courses” and receiving 4 1/2 stars in Golf Digest “Places To Play.” The course is more than 7,000 yards long and features three unique ecosystems not usually found together: Carolina Bays and marshland typical of a coastal environment; mature, dense hardwood forest land; and longleaf pine groves and elevation changes reminiscent of the sand hills area of North Carolina.

Panther’s Run was named one of the “Top 100 Fairways” by Golf For Women Magazine and is home to one of America’s All Time Best Golf Shops according to Golf World Business magazine. Panther’s Run measures 7,089 yards from the back tees; 6,706 yards from the blue tees; 6,267 yards from the white tees; and two forward tees measure 5,546 yards and 5,023 yards.

About Ocean Ridge Plantation

Located in Sunset Beach, one of North Carolina’s most beautiful barrier islands, Ocean Ridge Plantation is a 2,000 acre residential community featuring 54 holes of championship golf, a pristine nature preserve and a beautiful choice of homes and home sites.

Ocean Ridge Plantation, which has started construction on a fourth course, Leopard’s Chase, offers its property owners and visitors world class golf on three championship layouts. Designed by architect Willard Byrd, Lion’s Paw Golf Links offers some of the most picturesque and challenging golf holes on the Grand Strand and has received a four-star rating in Golf Digest’s “Places to Play.” Panther’s Run, designed by Tim Cate, uses the natural terrain of the land to create a beautiful and challenging layout; it was on Golf Digest’s list of nominees for “Best New Course” when it opened. Tiger’s Eye, also designed by Cate, is distinguished by dramatic elevation changes, large natural waste areas and a coquina-bouldered waterfall. The course is on Golf Digest’s list of “Best in State” and it earned 4 1/2 stars in the prestigious Places to Play 2002-2003 rankings. Tiger’s Eye was also ranked No. 6 in North Carolina by Golfweek magazine. All three of Ocean Ridge’s courses have been on Golf For Women’s prestigious list of “Top 100 Fairways for Women.”

Who does the public like in NFL Week 11?

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) November 18, 2005

Who does the public like in NFL Week 11?

The most accurate gauge of public opinion in any sporting event is the sports betting market. By tracking the ?number of bets? and ?percentage of bets? placed on every match, SportsInsights.com shows readers which teams the public is favoring.

All wagering statistics come directly from the lineboards of six independent online sportsbooks, and represent actual bets placed. We invite the sports media to take advantage of these unique statistics for use in stories, or a sidebar graphic.

NFL WEEK 10 Recap

NFL Week 10 was kind to the Sportsbooks. Our contributing online sportsbooks all reported a profitable Sunday, most holding 7-8% of their handle. Not one, but two, 10-point underdogs winning outright, plus the ?Can?t Miss? Colts failing to cover, were the main ingredients to a good Sunday for the sportsbooks.

NFL WEEK 11 Preview

Look for handle size to increase in NFL Week 11. The bet of choice for ?Joe Public? continues to be the ?Teaser? and ?Parlay? bet. We don?t expect this trend to change anytime soon. Early public money is chasing favorites Carolina, Jacksonville, Dallas, Seattle, and Indy. We anticipate Carolina, Jacksonville, and Dallas to be the most ?lopsided-bet? games of the weekend. Visit SportsInsights.com for real-time betting statistics and information.

Todd Lokken from Strategic Fantasy Sports Identifies The Most Dropped and Picked Up Free Agents for Week 3 of the NFL Season

Titusville, FL (PRWEB) September 29, 2006

Maurice Morris, who went undrafted in most fantasy football leagues, is all of a sudden a hot commodity as he assumes the featured running back role in Seattle. The Seahawks started the season with MVP Sean Alexander, but a broken bone in is foot will sideline him for a few weeks. Morris has NFL experience, and filled in for Alexander after last week?s injury. The only problem for Morris this week is facing a tough Chicago Bear defense, says Todd Lokken, President of Strategic Fantasy Sports. Lokken continues, ?Against most teams, Morris would be a solid fantasy start. However, those Bears are fully capable of completely shutting him down.? However, after the Bears, the Seahawks have a bye week?after which Alexander may be back. ?Morris may be a decent short term fix for someone really in need of a running back?, says Lokken. However, if Alexander winds up out of action for longer than a few weeks, Morris obviously becomes much more valuable.

The next hot commodity is Maurice Jones-Drew, running back for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jones-Drew ran all over the Indianapolis Colts in week 3, and may start to take time away from Fred Taylor. ?The unexpected explosion of this kid has really put him in the public eye?, says Lokken. ?He may be a steal for the rest of the season?if you can still get him.? According to the CBS Sportsline, Jones-Drew was on less than 15% of all fantasy football rosters before last week. Lokken says, ?if players take a look now, they will see Jones-Drew on probably 50% of all rosters, so grab him while he is still there.?

On the flip side, injuries are seriously hurting former fantasy stars, and team owners are making fantasy adjustments accordingly. The most prominent star losing a roster spot is Tampa Bay Buccaneer?s QB Chris Simms, after his emergency spleen surgery last week. Simms, who was injured in a game against the Carolina Panthers, is expected to be out for some time. Lokken says, ?The Bucs say that Simms may return this year, but that is a doubtful thought?especially if it looks like the playoffs are out of reach.? Lokken continues, ?it?s not worth him taking up a roster spot, and you should find another QB quickly.? In most leagues, there still should be a starting QB or two to help you out.

Finally this week, Lokken gives us another disappointment: San Francisco 49er Vernon Davis. The rookie tight end had a strong debut against the Arizona Cardinals, but then was blanked against the St. Louis Rams and the Philadelphia Eagles. To make matters worse, Davis broke the fibula in his right leg against the Eagles, and will be out until at least week 8. While the injury may have been a fluke, Lokken points out ?Davis was struggling against better defenses, so he wasn?t doing much fantasy wise.? Having a starting tight end out 6 weeks is deadly in leagues that require a TE, so Lokken advises Davis owners to adjust their rosters accordingly. Grab another starter, possibly Eric Johnson of the 49ers, if you need additional support. ?If you can handle Davis going down for an extended period and you really believe in him, then hold him, as this ailment will not keep him out the entire season,? says Lokken.

Former NFL Player and Motivational Speaker, Toi Cook, Advises Youths To “Never Quit”

(PRWEB) October 11, 2003

“If you are a winner you will always have an idea, but losers will always have an excuse,” states Super Bowl Champion, Toi Cook when he recently addressed 150 kids at Santa Monica High School.

Toi Cook played eleven years in the NFL, and had an interception for the 1994 Super Bowl Champion 49ers. He played on three different NFC West Champions, the Saints, 49ers, and Carolina Panthers, during his career.

Cook now travels extensively addressing youth groups on the importance of never quitting and maintaining a positive attitude.

For Toi Cook’s speaking availability please contact Keith Hunt 909 987 1233 or email Keith@CamelotMarketing.net

“Deep down losers hate to see winners, so they will try and stop you achieving success. If I had a dollar every time someone told me I would never play in the NFL for eleven years I would be a millionaire.”

“I was also told I would never be a 3 year starter in 2 sports at Stanford, or be able to produce albums and televisions shows while I played. But I did!” continues Cook.

He attended Stanford University from 1983 to 1987 and was a three-year starter in both baseball and football. He was also a starter on the 1987 NCAA Champion Cardinal baseball squad, going 3 for 5 in the championship game, and was drafted by the New Orleans Saints (football) and Minnesota Twins (baseball).

“Everybody who ever had a goal and succeeded has heard the same negativity. Don’t ever let someone say you cannot achieve your dream. No one can stop you but yourself.

I leave the audience with a plan on how to create a daily, weekly and monthly goal schedule. In the schedule it is important to Include time for workouts, preferably 1 hr in am and 1 hr of think time by yourself. So if you have to get up at 5:00am to accomplish you should.”

“Dreams and success don’t come overnight though. Ray Kroc, who turned McDonald’s into the world’s largest food chain, didn’t sell his first hamburger until age fifty-two.”

“Never quit,” concludes Cook.
