As the Chicago Cubs surged to the top of their division standings, the team’s loyal fan base came out in droves in July as the Cubs became the top ticket seller for the month on TicketsNow, according to the TicketsNow Entertainment Index for July. The Cubs’ first-place ranking ended the two-month streak of the Boston Red Sox, who dropped to third overall behind Wicked, which retained the number two position.

Performing overseas until October, The Police reunion tour slipped to number 11 overall. The Police — who still managed to retain the top spot in the Concert category — accounted for 1.7% of all tickets sold on TicketsNow. The legendary trio returns stateside for a Halloween show at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

In the Theater category, Wicked continued its run as the leader with 5.7% of tickets sold. The production’s closest competition was Broadway favorite Jersey Boys (3.3%). These two shows represented the only non-baseball events to crack the overall top 10 sellers on TicketsNow in July.
