(PRWEB) July 06, 2011

Jet2.com launch new route to Bodrum from Leeds Bradford as film stars and international footballers are pictured on its azure shore

In bygone times Bodrum was the playground for the elite and powerful; the likes of Cleopatra and Mark Anthony found its beauty alluring. Today, this appeal remains amongst the rich and famous.

In June the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas were spotted spending time in the city.

With the launch of Jet2.com?s latest route from their Leeds Bradford base it is anticipated that more holidaymakers will be joining the guest list of visitors to Bodrum.

Many Wonders to Behold

The Turquoise Coast that dominates much of Turkey?s southern coastline has always been held in high regard amongst holidaymakers. Bodrum only forms part of this illustrious stretch of luxurious and interesting resorts and towns. However, because it was formerly known as Halicarnassus and it houses one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Bodrum often corrals an interested clientele.

Many of the famous faces amongst these visitors are often found spending time around the harbour, where luxury yachts can be spotted, or popping into the many classy boutiques that adorn the main streets in the centre.

There is also a wealth of restaurants and bars to keep those with deep pockets and those with more modest budgets happy. This is one of the reasons that Bodrum retains its popularity and the moniker as the St Tropez of Turkey ? value for money.

It might attract a glamorous set of holidaymakers but it doesn?t abuse this. In fact a lot of the bars and shops can be quite modest. Norah Jones even worked in Bodrum once upon a time.

?An extremely popular location?

Jet2.com has now made this holiday destination more accessible with the launch of their Leeds Bradford route. Flights take off once a week and cost

AFA PRESS RELEASE: (PRWEB) November 12, 1999

3510

SEMI-PRO FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT ACTION WINDS DOWN

As the 1999 season winds down and many member league champions have advanced to regional type playoffs, all that remains before crowning the ?99 AFA National Champion are the results of a few challenge game type tournaments across the country. Still in the hunt for the AFA?s top spot is the nation’s number one rated team the Southern Michigan Timberwolves (14-0). The T?wolves, one of the few undefeated AAA teams in the country, will be playing in the Mid-West post season tournament semi-finals this weekend against the Kane County (Ill.) Eagles. Last year’s AFA National Champions, the Kalamazoo (MI) Tornadoes (12-1), will take on the undefeated Springfield (IL) Rifles (11-0) in the other half of the Mid-West tournament championship.

In the east, triple-A semi-pro football fans will find the Marlboro (MA) Shamrocks (13-1) playing host to the Scranton (PA) Eagles (16-1). The winner will play the Central (PA) Piranha (12-0) for the Northeast Challenge tournament title. Both Scranton and Marlboro have won AFA national titles in the past. Scranton in 1984 and ?89 and Marlboro in 1997. Still in the mix for AFA Northeast Regional honors is the undefeated West Deptford (NJ) Broncos (9-0). The Broncos will play the Central (VA) Storm for the Mason/Dixon League championship on Sunday November 13.

Two AFA regional champions, the 13-1 Wichita Falls (TX) Drillers and the 12-2 Puget Sound (WA) Jets, have decided to test their team’s talents against each other in a bowl game. The Drillers are the United Professional League champs and the Jets took league championship honors in the Northwest Football League this season.

In AA football action the current top 5 rankings are:

Chicago Chargers (10-0)

Central Maine Storm (8-0)

Virginia Monarchs (15-1)

Central Ohio Lions (11-1)

Lincoln (Nebraska) Renegades (8-1) and the Wickenburg (Arizona) Warriors (4-0).

Middletown, OH – May 24, 2002 – Graphware, Inc., developer of Coach’s Office, and Quik Scout Technologies today announced an alliance to incorporate FireScout FS football video editing into the suite of Coach’s Office software. The partnership integrates a range of program tools that will help football coaches work more efficiently and prepare their players for game day.

Coach’s Office is used by NFL, college, and high school teams to easily draw plays, develop a professional playbook with weekly game plans, print playcards from a practice script, and produce a PowerPoint-type presentation mixing play diagrams with video. “The seamless integration of FireScout FS into the suite of Coach’s Office tools gives coaches the confidence that information they enter into one system will be compatible in another,” states Stan Webber, President of Graphware, Inc. “We spent three years making the software compatible with industry standard databases, word processors, spreadsheets, graphics, and video formats. What appealed to me about FireScout FS was its ease of use and industry standard video format. Unlike some other video editing systems for sports that use a proprietary format that cannot be used by other applications, FireScout FS digitized clips can run on any PC with the Microsoft Media Player.”

FireScout FS allows a coach to simultaneously view digital game footage while analyzing and entering game data into a desktop or laptop computer. It uses the latest industry standard FireWire video technology to bring high-quality video to your PC. “I’m excited about the possibilities this partnership will bring to coaches at all levels and at a price they can afford,” says Randy Bukowski, President of Quick Scout Technologies. “What is also appealing is that football teams can buy different modules from each system as their budget permits and add other modules later.”

About Graphware, Inc.

(PRWEB) December 3, 2002

According to The CFC Scale, Georgia may become one of the best college football teams not to play for a national championship. The CFC Scale is based on a study of the correlation between regular season events and bowl game success. The study showed that quality road wins were the best predictor of bowl game victory.

The CFC Scale ranks Georgia and Ohio State as the top teams for a national championship game. Alabama, Iowa, and Notre Dame complete the top five. Notre Dame remained in the top five despite losing at USC because of Notre Dame’s tougher road schedule.

Miami’s argument for going to the Fiesta Bowl is Miami’s win at Florida, which beat the Bulldogs at Georgia. However, Miami played Florida A&M the week before beating Florida, and Florida had two weeks to prepare for Georgia. If Georgia beats Arkansas, the Bulldogs will have the best record against one of the toughest road schedules in the nation.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 18, 2011

Dr. Joel Sokol is an associate professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology in the Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering and who specializes in sports modeling. Dr. Sokol?s research interests include operations research and its application in a wide variety of areas, from logistics, manufacturing, and network design to biology, social logistics, and sports modeling. Dr. Sokol?s LRMC method (predictive modeling for the NCAA basketball tournament) has been featured in the New York Times, CNN and ESPN.

“Dr. Sokol is an excellent choice to advise CSA as we continue to grow our business and build on our successful offerings for sports,” Diane Bloodworth, Founder of CSA, said. I first became aware of Dr. Sokol a few of years ago when he was interviewed by the Atlanta Journal Constitution about the computer model he created to accurately predict NCAA basketball tournament brackets.

“I’m excited to be part of CSA and their quantitative analytical methods for sports,” Dr. Sokol said. “When Fantasy Sports participants sign up for the service and see the end results, I’m sure they’ll be as excited as I am.”

David Eckoff, an online sports industry veteran, has also joined the CSA Advisory Board. Eckoff has served as Vice President, New Product Development at Turner Broadcasting. While at Turner, he developed and launched PlayOn Sports, an online sports network that webcast live events for the ACC, the Big Ten and the United Soccer League. Prior to joining Turner, Eckoff was a Senior Director at RealNetworks Inc, where he developed the company’s streaming online sports initiatives, led the live online video hit ?CBS Big Brother 24/7? and invented an online network for the long tail of video, a forerunner of YouTube. He also negotiated deals with FOX Sports, ESPN, CSTV, CBS television and more. Before joining Real, Eckoff was Senior Vice-President at Rivals.com, a 180-employee start-up funded by Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, Softbank, Intel, and News Corporation (Fox). While at Rivals, he developed the Rivals.com branded sports news network destination and grew its audience from startup to 1.5 million users per month.

“David Eckoff’s experience in working with many of the leading online sports properties is extremely valuable to CSA,” Bloodworth said. He can look at our business on many levels and help us determine where we should put our focus and resources to grow our company.”

“When I select startups to advise, I look for founders who have an uncommon mix, an ability to execute and willingness to be coached,” Eckoff said. “Diane Bloodworth has impressed me on both counts. The fantasy sports market is enormous and CSA’s web-based predictive analysis software has great potential.”

About Competitive Sports Analysis

CSA?s first online product offering, scoutPRO? uses a unique predictive analysis software application that combines historical tendencies and subjective ratings to identify the strengths and weaknesses of players in specific situations. scoutPRO provides Fantasy Football General Managers (GMs) with player matchups by skill rating based on the specific upcoming weekly opponent. This gives the Fantasy Football GM a distinct advantage over the other members of their Fantasy Football League throughout the entire season. For more information, visit scoutPRO at http://www.scoutproff.com.

AFA Semi-Pro Football Trivia Question:

What do you call a massive body that weighs 24,332 pounds (more than 12 tons) and stands 628’8” high (taller than a 6 story building and/or is longer than 2 football fields) . . . and will be descending on Sarasota, Florida this weekend?

The answer is – - – the 104 semi-pro football players who will be playing in the American Football Association’s 23rd annual National Championship Game in that Florida Gulf Coast city on Saturday, December 14th.

SEMI-PRO and PROUD . . . to be Playing for the 23rd annual AFA National Championship: Taking part in the AFA’s “Super Bowl of Semi-Pro Football XXIII” will be the two top ranked AFA semi-pro teams in the country, the #1 Puget Sound

Washington Jets (state of Washington) and the #2 ranked St. Petersburg, Florida Sharks. Both teams are ‘undefeated’ for the 2002 season and have captured their AFA league, state, regional, and divisional titles along the way.

While the Puget Sound Jets will be traveling more than 3,000 miles for their first shot at an AFA national title, their counterpart, the Sharks, will have a very short trek (about 50 miles) down the Florida interstate to the games host city of Sarasota.

In reviewing the 55 man roster that the Sharks will be bringing to town one can’t help notice that the team weight totals 12,581 lbs for an average of 228.8 lbs per man – while the Jets will be traveling with a 49 man roster which totals 11,751 lbs for an average of 239.8 lbs per player.

Even though those overall height/weight team statistics don’t mean much to anyone other than the restaurant owners and fast food franchises in Sarasota – one can’t help being impressed with the size of both teams offensive and defensive linemen.

For instance, if you’re a football fan who likes to watch the action in the trenches, you’ll get to see the Jets offensive line, which averages 337 lbs (and 6’4” tall) trying to slow down the rush of the Sharks speedy defensive line,

averaging nearly 274 lbs (at 6’2”).

The Sharks will counter with an offensive line that stands 6’4” tall and averages 338 lbs. With the ball in the Sharks hands the Jets will be pressuring with a 6’3”, 284 lb defensive line.

While the overall measurements seem to stack up pretty evenly between the two combatants for the national title, the Jets will be traveling with 10 offensive linemen (rare for semi-pro football teams) – a few who are large enough to block

out some of the bright Florida sun.

Jason (the house) Washington, tips the scales at 450 lbs, stands 6’ 10” high and will bookend with Walter Brown, a 6’6”- 405 pounder that together might well be more appropriately (for Florida anyway) renamed ‘the condos’. Sandwich between

them, if you will, the 295 lb. all-league center, Rod Willison and you have something that might better resemble one of Sarasota’s barrier islands with their beach line of erect standing condominiums.

The Sharks will take up a little real estate of their own as they hit Sarasota High School’s Ihrig Football Field Saturday night with their wide body offensive line of center DJ Weilbacher (6’6” -365); guards Al Perdue (6’6” -360); Ben

Pultorak (6’5” -365); and tackles Wade Alden (5’11” – 280) and Michael Shoro (6’2” -335). St. Pete plans to counter Puget Sound’s bulky O-line with their speedy front four consisting of defensive ends Cornelius Bland (5’11” -250),

Kendran Murphy (6’2” -290), and D-tackles Todd Rivers (5’10” -260), and Michael Lowe (6’2” -250).

As the number 1 and 2 ranked teams in the nation, at seasons end, the Jets and Sharks come to the national title game not only matched in size – but pretty close in point production and point prevention as well. While the team from Puget Sound Washington averaged 34.6 points a game and only gave up an average of 6.1 points, the St. Pete Florida team had a scoring average of 40.1 points per contest and was equally as stingy on defense by allowing only 6.1 points themselves.

While both teams were undefeated this season, the Jets are 33-1 over the past 3 years and the Sharks are sporting a 24 and 1 record in the last two years. The Jets team won 7 Northwest Football League championships in the past 9 seasons.

The Sharks are two time league champs of the Southern States Football League.

Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) October 22, 2003

It’s every young athlete’s dream to be a star – and the family owned company of PhotoBallsOnline.com, hopes to make that dream a reality with their new product – a specially treated sports ball imprinted with the photo of that special sports moment.

A sports star’s photo on a football or baseball isn’t new – but until recently, the high cost of the process meant that

it could only be done in mass quantities. Now, with new technology making custom printing on a curved surface more cost effective, balls can be imprinted one at a time, for a truly unique gift or award.

“Whether it’s your daughter scoring her first goal in soccer, or your son in his Little League uniform, this is a way to capture the most important times in their childhood,” says company founder, Bob Schroeder. “It’s something that

can be displayed and kept for years, and it’s a lot more meaningful than another trophy or plaque that looks just like the one they got last year. “

The parent company, Schroeder Marketing of Cincinnati, Ohio, has been involved in fundraising products for the school and amateur sports market for several years, but always with an emphasis on the “non-traditional” products – in other words, they don’t sell candy bars and cookie dough.

“We never felt that selling something like candy or pizza was appropriate for a sports program. After all, we are supposed to be teaching our kids a healthier way to live by participating in sports. Candy bars just don’t seem to reinforce that concept,” comments Schroeder.

Instead, the company focuses on personalized keepsakes such as custom mini football helmets, beanie bears with logo sweaters and now PhotoBalls. But even this product

won’t be sold through the “traditional” online store. Instead, they have developed a unique program that will allow any team or group to have their own “custom” store, online access to sales reports and stats 24 hours a day, with no set-up fees or ongoing expenses.

With alliances already in place with some of the largest youth and amateur sports leagues in the country, Schroeder Marketing estimates that more than 500 of the custom internet stores should be live by the end of the year.

A special point of sale counter display, allowing brick & mortar merchants to simply sell a pre-addressed PhotoBall mailer, with no inventory to stock, will be available Nov. 1 – just in time for the Christmas shopping season.

Schroeder Marketing is a family owned company, based in Cincinnati, Ohio. The company has a well established presence in the specialty product market, with it’s primary focus on the creation of personalized collectibles for the sports and school fundraising marketplace.

For further details, visit the main corporate website at http://www.schroedermarketing.com, or the product website at http://www.photoballsonline.com, or call 888.296.4709 or 513.922.6158
