PETA Tackles Eagles’ Fur Promos as “Unnecessary Roughness”

(PRWEB) January 17, 2004

Today, PETA fired off letters to Philadelphia Eagles teammates A.J. Feeley, Brian Dawkins, and Freddie Mitchell, chiding them for buying and promoting fur and asking them to donate their furs to PETA. The group also took to task local sportscaster Howard Eskin, who, along with the football players, has been making promotional appearances for a Philadelphia-area furrier. Enclosed with the letters is a video documenting cruelty on fur farms narrated by PETA supporter and locker-room pin-up Pamela Anderson.

“While we’re sure that you must get awfully cold sitting on the bench every Sunday in frigid Philadelphia, we here at PETA were disappointed to hear that you’ve been wearing fur in a local advertising campaign,” writes PETA campaign coordinator Dan Shannon in his letter to backup quarterback A.J. Feeley. “If you insist on dressing up like a little old lady, we’ll lend you some old-fashioned pumps and a hairnet.”

PETA points out to the athletes that if furriers were football players, they would be penalized for unnecessary roughness. Animals trapped for fur suffer excruciating pain, often for days, before having their chests stomped or necks broken by trappers. Beavers caught in underwater traps struggle frantically before drowning. On fur farms, animals spend their lives in tiny, filthy cages, where they suffer physical and psychological distress before being killed by poisoning, gassing, anal electrocution, or neck-breaking.

PETA encourages people with unwanted fur garments to donate them to the homeless or to disaster victims. For details, call 1-888-FUR-AWAY or visit FurIsDead.com.

PETA’s letter to A.J. Feeley follows. PETA’s letters to Dawkins, Mitchell, and Eskin are available upon request.

Dear Mr. Feeley,

While we’re sure that you must get awfully cold sitting on the bench every Sunday in frigid Philadelphia, we here at PETA were disappointed to hear that you’ve been wearing fur in a local advertising campaign.

Forgive me if this is news to you, but animals used for fur are either cruelly caught in steel-jaw leghold traps, some of them chewing off their own limbs to try to get back to their offspring, or driven mad from being confined to small, filthy “fur farm” cages. Death finally comes when the animals, frightened out of their wits, are stomped to death in the wild or suffocated or genitally electrocuted or have their necks broken on fur farms. You can learn more at PETA’s Web site FurIsDead.com, and I’m also enclosing PETA’s undercover fur-farm investigation narrated by Pamela Anderson, which contains footage of animals suffering on fur farms and in the wild.

If you insist on dressing up like a little old lady, we’ll lend you some old-fashioned pumps and a hairnet. But seriously, please make your game jersey the only bloody garment you own, and lose the fur.

Once you’ve had a change of heart, please consider donating your fur coat to PETA to help the less fortunate. The homeless and destitute are the only ones who have an excuse to wear fur, so PETA distributes donated furs to them. We have provided fur coats to earthquake victims in Iran and war orphans freezing in Afghanistan, as well as to homeless people in many U.S. cities, including Philadelphia. You can’t bring the animals killed for your fur coat back to life, but you can convert a thoughtless act that caused pain into an act of love for others. We urge you to please do that. The media would react very positively to your change of heart.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. Please contact me at 757-622-7382.

Best,

Dan Shannon

The Staten Island Mall is pleased to announce three sets of music and twelve star acts performing for Fashion Jam ?06 at the Staten Island Mall, 2655 Richmond Avenue, Staten Island, NY on Saturday, September 16, 2006.

The festivities kick off at 11:00 AM with Milk Rocks spokesmodel and popular singer Britney Christian taking the Washington Mutual Sound Stage for Preemie Jam, sponsored by the March of Dimes. Christian will perform songs from her upcoming CD All or Nothing. Sixteen year old Christian?s song “Little Things You Do” (which she wrote) was the number 1 most downloaded song worldwide out of 42,000 songs posted on MySpace.

Following Christian?s performance at Preemie Jam, Fashion Jam ?06 kicks off on the A.W.E. (Advance Weekly Entertainment) Soundstage. The first show takes place at 1:00 PM EST and features Girls Don?t Cry, Zieme, Carl Henry, Louise Setera, and Byron Zanos.

Describing themselves as having ?the spunk of the Go-Gos with the punk of the Killers,? Girls Don’t Cry combines the liberation and punk styles of the 80s music era with contemporary issues. Their lyrics emit simple, powerful messages about what it means to be a girl of today’s universe.

Brooklyn native Zieme (?Young Zah?) is proud to bring ?a ghetto, sexy, soul feeling? to Fashion Jam 2006. The young heartthrob is much more than a pretty face, however. He promises to keep it real with songs from his CD Scream My Name.

Jamaican/Canadian Carl Henry has toured all over Europe, opening for Mary J. Blige, De La Soul, and Ashanti. He was nominated for Best Reggae Recording at the 2004 and 2005 Juno Awards (the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys). Henry?s latest CD I Wish is available now on CeSoul Music, distributed by DEP/Universal.

Manhattan recording artist Louise Setera (?Little Star? in Punjabi) is only eighteen years old, but she already has a world of experience behind her. ?I?m young,? she says, ?but I?ve lived with this passion for so long. I can?t wait to share it.? Setera will perform songs from her upcoming CD Still Waters, which includes the Seal penned tune, ?Can?t Stop the River.?

His song ?Pandora?s Box,? from his debut CD Somewhere in the Middle, recently won a Silver Medal in the Pop category of the 22nd Annual Mid Atlantic Songwriting Contest. Another song from the disc, ?Secrets and Lies,? received an Honorable Mention in the Billboard World Song Contest and was a finalist in the 2005 International Song Competition. Zanos is excited to return to the Staten Island Mall for his second Fashion Jam.

The third show, at 4:00 PM EST, hosted by WKTU air personality Vic Latino, features Revi, Luz-Divina, Danielle Bollinger, Joanna, Lucas Prata, and Reina.

Tri-State area residents may remember her singing the National Anthem at New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Eagles games before she became a nightclub sensation. Revi has performed at nightclubs all over the world, often with fellow Fashion Jam guest DJ Louie DeVito.

Luz-Divina?s debut CD The Other Side features the single ?Just Wanna Be Me.? ?I?m rock, urban, soul, and underground all rolled in one,? proclaims the Mindset recording artist. The 20-year-old Bronx native moved from the U.S. to the Dominican Republic as a child, returning to the New York area as a teenager to attend the famed High School of the Performing Arts. Luz-Divina?s musical influences represent the varied cultures she experienced. ?I define myself as a funky urban Latina village rocker bohemian chick,? she laughs.

Former Star Search contestant Danielle Bollinger?s dance anthem ?When the Broken Hearted Love Again? spent 17 weeks near the top of the Billboard dance charts and was the number one song on XM Satellite Radio?s dance channel. Her latest single ?Kiss the Sky? boasts a Madonna influence and an intoxicating beat.

From starring in the 20th anniversary national tour of Annie to opening select dates for Sheryl Crow on her current concert tour, Joanna has graced stages all over the United States and Canada. Featured on MTV?s True Life and the WB?s What I Like About You, Joanna is a familiar face to today?s teen audience. Joanna will get her chance to share her music not only at Fashion Jam ?06 but also as the opening act for Nick Lachey?s U.S. tour.

Known as ?The Bad Boy of Dance,? Lucas Prata?s latest single ?And She Said?(Y Dices)? has been released as a club mix, a pop mix, a Spanish mix, a Spanglish mix, and even a Reggaeton version to satisfy his rabid and diverse fan base. Black Group Condemns Cartoonist for Racist Strip About Condoleezza Rice

(PRWEB) July 18, 2004

Because of the racially-insensitive content of a recent cartoon, members of the African-American leadership network Project 21 are asking Universal Press Syndicate to cease the distribution of comics drawn by Ted Rall. Project 21 also is challenging several other civil rights-oriented groups to join in the demand.

A July 1 comic by Rall suggests “appropriate punishments for deposed Bushists” that parodies alleged treatment of Iraqi detainees at the Abu Ghraib prison. The panel featuring Bush Administration national security advisor Condoleezza Rice has her saying “I was Bush’s beard! His house nigga. His…” She is interrupted by a character wearing a shirt reading “You’re not white, stupid” who says, “Now hand over your hair straightener.”

“Is it OK for Ted Rall to use such vile language because he’s using it against a black conservative?” asks Project 21 member Michael King. “I’m beside myself with anger over this comic.”

Project 21 is asking Universal Press Syndicate, the distributor of Rall’s comics, to immediately terminate their relationship with him. Project 21 is also asking the NAACP, the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition to make similar demands based on their past involvement in pressuring ESPN to fire radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh in 2003.

Last year, in his capacity as a football commentator for ESPN’s “Sunday NFL Countdown,” Limbaugh criticized the performance of Philadelphia Eagle’s quarterback Donovan McNabb, saying, “The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well.” Afterwards, NAACP president and CEO Kweisi Mfume called Limbaugh’s comments “bigoted and arrogant” and called for his removal. The NABJ demanded ESPN “separate itself” from Limbaugh. Rainbow/PUSH Coalition president Jesse Jackson called the remarks “not accurate and… insulting.” Limbaugh later resigned.

“From radical poet Amiri Baraka to singer Harry Belafonte and now cartoonist Ted Rall, too many people feel they have free rein to insult the dignity of Condoleezza Rice and have no problem injecting race into that abuse,” adds King. “It’s time for the civil rights establishment to stop allowing this assault on an accomplished black woman or they put their credibility at risk.”

Project 21, a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization, has been a leading voice of the African-American community since 1992. More Philadelphia Eagles Press Releases

ESPN’s ‘Sunday NFL Countdown’ Brings Attention To An American Football Association Semi-Pro Hall Of Famer

Endicott, NY (PRWEB) September 18, 2005

Sunday, September 18th at 11am ET on ESPN, “The Mayne Event” — Kenny Mayne’s weekly off-beat segment on Sunday NFL Countdown — will focus on a 72-year-old AFA Semi-Pro Football Hall of Famer who surprisingly could be an asset to current NFL teams in search of a dependable place kicker. The tongue-in-check profile entitled “The Mayne Event – Still Kicking” will take viewers into the kicking routine of the long-retired player and how he has maintained the place kicking skills from his semi-pro gridiron era.

The Still Kicking feature will run Sunday (Sept. 18) 11 am on “Sunday NFL Countdown,” ESPN’s two-hour live NFL pregame show, previewing the entire day of NFL action, with host Chris Berman, analysts Michael Irvin, Tom Jackson, Steve Young, Mike Ditka and NFL insider Chris Mortensen.

Although the AFA national office agreed not to release the name of this semi-pro place kicker prior to the ESPN Sunday airing, we can give our AFA members a little hint. He is the oldest active player in semi-pro football?s more than 100 years of existence. He was inducted into the AFA Semi-Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1992 and since coming out of retirement has been playing and coaching with various teams across the country including Team USA (in international

competition) – and he still makes annual appearances in Las Vegas at the Casino Bowl All-star games in early spring.

At the ripe old age of 72, this semi-pro hall of fame legend still conducts his trade mark half-time field goal kicking exhibition of being able to kick 10 balls, one after the other, and having all ten in the air at the same time – each splitting the uprights – with the 10th ball in the air before the first ball kicked hits the ground.

Even though Sunday?s ESPN “The Mayne Event – Still Kicking” may be a tongue-in-check shot at the current NFL kicking game, the segment will help bring a little ‘awareness’ to the semi-pro level of the game and those who dedicate a lifetime to playing in the lower level of this country?s greatest sport – FOOTBALL – all for the love of the game.

MORE SEMI-PRO FOOTBALL EXPOSURE:

Not that semi-pro footballers have to be told to watch the NFL in action all day Sunday in hopes of seeing someone they know or may have played with, or against in college at one time or another . . . but paying close attention to the commercials may just have you spotting a few familiar faces on the sidelines or in the game action.

Ever wonder where the national advertising agencies get all those NFL looking players to simulate NFL teams during the filming of football related product commercials? You guessed it – many are from the ranks of the “Semi-Pro and Proud.” While making TV commercials is obviously very lucrative for those agencies involved in promoting their clients products with the use of NFL super stars, paying NFL players to work as extras in those commercials would be very costly. Using and paying college players is a no-no. Hiring actors, without football playing experience, could leave a 30 or 60 second commercial short of the ‘reality-look’ the agencies are trying to accomplish for their clients. So the agencies have turned to the semi-pro ranks to fill the screen with authentic NFL “look-a-likes.”

While most semi-pro players are short of what it takes to make it in the big time (NFL) playing talent wise – strange enough – the fact is – that standing on the sideline (in an NFL uniform) or running plays during the filming of a TV commercial, our semi-pro guys fill the bill just fine. Trying to get an ‘actor’ to run up the gut, take a hit over the middle or make a QB sack look real for the cameras – just don?t do it.

So the next time you see one of those national TV commercials featuring NFL super stars selling a popular product – look closely at the football stand-ins. They may very well be some semi-pro guy you played or coached against last week.

In recent months agency producers have contacted several AFA member teams regarding the use of players and coaches to give their TV commercials the professional football appearance they are looking for. One such Chunky Soup commercial, featuring Philadelphia Eagle?s quarterback Donovan McNabb, is currently airing. Several Empire Football League players were used in the production of that popular TV spot. The agency relied heavily on the coaching experience of AFA Hall of Famer George Ashcraft from the EFL?s Watertown (New York) Red & Black. Ashcraft provided the agency with the technical football advice (and several EFL players) they needed to make the McNabb/Chunky Soup commercial convincing to the viewers.

Over the years several semi-pro players have found their way into our living rooms and dens via TV commercials and movie appearances disguised as professional football players. You just didn?t know it! On October 7th the Empire Football League will get a little more ?pub? as the AFA?s oldest operating semi-pro football league in the country when movie goers may get a glimpse of the EFL?s logo, which was sought for use in conjunction with a player contract and letters from football leagues used as props in the soon to be released football movie – “Two For The Money.”

“Two For the Money” stars Matthew McConaughey as a star college player who is at the top of his sport until he blows out his knee during a game. This forces him to choose a new profession. He winds up getting into the sports gambling business and is eventually recruited by a renowned bookie (Al Pacino), who runs one of the best sports-booking operations in the country. This motion picture also stars Rene Russo and will be directed by DJ Caruso and distributed by Universal Pictures. For movie trailer, click

On another note, the July 11 issue of Sports Illustrated (page 105) included a photo essay on “sports tribes” — groups of enthusiasts committed to a particular endeavor. Among the “tribes” profiled is the semi-pro football team the St. Lawrence Valley Trailblazers of the Empire Football League. The issue also includes a short interview with Professor of English Bob Cowser. The paperback edition of Cowser’s 2004 book about playing football, Dream Season: A Professor Joins America’s Oldest Semi-Pro Football Team, will be released on October 10. “These are movies that reflect deeply-held American values,” says Class. “These movies are inspirational. These movies remind us that the purpose of life is to live a life of purpose, and that doing the right thing always matters.”

Class sees movies as a teaching tool: He included nearly 600 movie recommendations in his history book for kids, Anthony and the Magic Picture Frame. In the book, digital photography places the author’s twelve year-old son, Anthony, in the cockpit of the Spirit of St. Louis with Charles Lindbergh, on the moon with Neil Armstrong, in the laboratories of Thomas Edison and Jonas Salk, and on Normandy beach on D-Day. Anthony “time-travels” into America’s past to learn valuable lessons about right and wrong, choosing one’s destiny, strength of will, dedication to purpose, and love of country. It’s all historically accurate: Even Anthony’s conversations with American heroes are based on things they really said. The 600 movies are part of a larger list that includes books to read, music to listen to, and places to visit: fun for kids, and a built-in teaching tool for parents and teachers. The book is recommended for readers in Grade 6 to Grade 12+. The captivating photography can be seen on the book’s Web site: http://www.MagicPictureFrame.com.

Class knows that his picks for best films may not win on Oscar Night. “But, wouldn’t it be refreshing,” asks Class, “to see a special Academy Award for the movie that best reflects positive American values and role models? Or, a special Academy Award for the movie that best inspires America’s young people to greatness? That’s what I hope to achieve with the American Values Awards. The winners are movies that parents can share with their children. The winners are movies that every American should see.”

The winners for 2005 are:

1. THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS: The true story of Chris Gardner, a down-and-out and sometimes homeless salesman, abandoned by his wife, and suffering from a string of bad decisions. But, Chris Gardner holds fast to the American Dream: He retains his optimism, protects and nurtures his young son, works long and hard, and never gives up. Chris Gardner is rewarded for keeping the faith.

2. GLORY ROAD: The inspiring true story of how a small school in West Texas, with an unproven coach, and an all-black starting team of basketball players changed history. It’s a story of character, integrity, and overcoming prejudice. It’s a story of inner strength and doing something that is bigger than yourself.

3. FLIGHT 93: The true story of the ordinary Americans who fought back against evil on 9/11 and became heroes to remember in the War on Terror. The movie makes you wonder whether or not you would have had the same strength and courage.

4. FLYBOYS: The true story of the volunteer American pilots who fought for France before America officially entered World War I. These young men volunteered because they wanted to fly airplanes, but they got more than they bargained for: a lesson in courage, heroism, sacrifice, and friendship – and the unforgiving brutality of war.

5. WORLD TRADE CENTER: The true story of John McLoughlin and Will Jimeno, two New York Port Authority policemen, trapped in the rubble of the World Trade Center on 9/11, after they went in to rescue people. It’s a story of family, love, faith, and courage – qualities that kept the two men alive. And, as you watch firemen ask strangers, “Remember my name and please tell my wife and children that I love them,” before crawling deep down into the building wreckage, it’s also a movie that begs the question: “Would you do the same?”

6. AKEELAH AND THE BEE: The true story of Akeelah Anderson, an 11-year-old girl who overcomes the odds to participate in the Scripps National Spelling Bee. Yes, Akeelah can spell! But, the story is really about developing the mindset to be a winner, and choosing to win only in the right way.

7. INVINCIBLE: The true story of 30-year-old Vince Papale, a bartender and part-time schoolteacher who gets the chance to play football for the Philadelphia Eagles thanks to an “open tryout” offer to Philadelphia citizens by coach Dick Vermeil in 1974. It’s an inspirational underdog story that reminds us that anything is possible – if we only try.

8. JOYEUX NOEL: The true story of the World War I Christmas Truce. It’s an important film because most young people today don’t know very much about World War I, and because the Christmas Truce was an unbelievable and almost miraculous event. In 1914, during the first Christmas of World War I, soldiers in opposing trenches – against orders – called out to each other, shared Christmas greetings, and sang Silent Night together. Some soldiers even ventured out into No Man’s Land to meet their enemies and exchange gifts.

9. CHARLOTTE’S WEB. Yes, Charlotte’s Web. Why? Because, it is one of the best children’s stories of all time, based on the remarkable book by E.B. White. It’s a story of family, friendship, self-sacrifice, and the wonders of God’s creation. You probably haven’t looked at the book since you were a child, or since the last time you read the book to your children. Re-read Goodnight Moon, by Margeret Wise Brown, too. Smile.

10. THE WORLD’S FASTEST INDIAN (released December 2005): The true story of Burt Monroe, an elderly gentlemen from New Zealand who travels to America to race his antique Indian motorcycle on the Bonneville Salt Flats in 1967. Amazing everyone, Munroe sets the Under-1000 cc World Motorcycle Land Speed Record. Munroe’s record still stands. Emotional impact comes from one line near the end of the movie, when Burt is lying on his back on the Bonneville Salt Flats after setting the record and crashing his motorcycle: He says, “I did it.” Those three words mean a lot.

Anthony and the Magic Picture Frame was named Outstanding Book of the Year and Most Original Concept of 2006 by Independent Publisher; Reviewers Choice by Midwest Book Review; and Editor’s Pick by Homefires: The Journal of Homeschooling Online. Nationally syndicated talk-show host Michael Medved calls the book “entertaining and educational.” Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin says “parents and teachers will appreciate the inspiring message this unique history book holds for America’s next generation. I recommend this book to all young Americans, may they take us to the stars and beyond.”

L. Myers Debuts at Sunset Urban with “Infinity,” in Stores Nov. 13

New York, NY (PRWEB) December 14, 2007

Embracing an effortless eloquence and smooth persona of a top Hip Hop artist, the music of L. Myers has defined the true meaning of American soul. Like his hometown godfathers, this Philadelphia native has a deep voice and unique style that captures the vibe of vintage Hip Hop music without sounding old fashion. On his latest disc Infinity, that blend can be clearly heard throughout the entire CD.

“It’s always been a goal of mine to continue the great tradition of Hip Hop music,” Myers says. “When I was growing-up it was all about the Philadelphia International soul men and about the Motown artists. From the first time I ever stepped into a recording studio, I knew that I wanted to emulate the likes of The Roots and Cypress Hill.” While Myers may have some legendary shoes to fill, the longevity in his career is what he is looking for as a music artist.

Don Lichterman, the head of Sunset Records and Sunset Urban states that “today, the music industry has a fast turnaround of acts vying to be the next best thing or trying to be that next popular hip hop artist. It’s rare to find an artist with longevity. L. Myers and producer/mixer Rod Millwood have created strong music on this debut CD”. Lichterman continues that “we had this released originally as an EP this year and Rod went back in the studio last month to finish up the final mixes on the full length CD.” This recording will mark the first release at the newly created Sunset Urban music division at Sunset’s Records Group (SRG).

Like the late Luther Vandross before him, the secret of L. Myers rhythmic endurance comes down to his ability to create eternal music. With the release of Infinity, Myers first disc for his new label Sunset Urban/Blue Mountain Records, the wonderful hip hop artist could not be more pleased with the outcome of this CD. “When I heard that Sunset had been starting an Urban music division, my first reaction was to get back into the studio to retool this Infinity CD,” says producer and head of Blue Mountain Records, Rod Millwood. He approached Lichterman last month during the implementation of Sunset Urban this year. “I really wanted something out in 2007 from this division,” says Lichterman. “I wasn’t very happy with how the division had been started last month,” Lichterman confesses, “and then it hit me to bring in a production company with a great track record.”

Lichterman and Millwood have been working together for about year. The Laff House Comedy Club and Blue Mountain Records have distribution deals with eSunset, the digital distribution division at Sunset Records. Millwood’s production credits include The Laff House Comedy Club CDs, CDs and DVDs by Mark Simmons and Kevin Hart. Millwood also has credits for his production work on Flames by Patti Labelle (1997) along with his production work on the Butter soundtrack for HBO and with Peaches Herb. This month, two of Millwood’s artists are performing at the HBO Comedy Festival (see news story).

Having penned and completed about thirty-three new songs before completing this final CD, Myers was more than ready to release a full length CD. “Right now, I am excited and enthusiastic to do what I can do in my new situation with the new resources created at Blue Mountain and more notably at Sunset Urban.” Without a doubt, the landscape of Hip Hop music has reached every demographic in today’s marketplace, but that fact has not hindered Myers creative process. “It would be a mistake for us to compete with, say, Chris Brown and Kanye West this year,” Lichterman laughs and “Myers material will very much appeal to everyone from teenagers to older folks like myself.”

It would have been too easy for Myers to follow the Hip Hop template of writing about romance. But on Infinity, the artist in him felt the need to be more revealing about that part of his life. “As a person that writes my own music and songs, my goal has to always been to find new ways to say old things in my songwriting,” Myers says. “It is all about being honest and exploring who I am as a person before putting those words onto paper. Like everyone else, I am a much different today than I was growing up as a kid.” The Infinity CD boasts not only Millwood as the Executive Producers, Mona Wilkerson and Shawn “The Big Kid” Andrews who is the current lineman for the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles are the Executive Producers on this CD. Also on the CD performing is Kevin Hart (Soul Plane, The Big House, I’m A Grown Little Man), the world famous comedian that is now the host of MTV’s, Celebrity Rapper Show.

After Hart does his comedic introduction, Infinity’s stellar first single entitled, “All Things Change,” detours from the usual Hip Hop style while serenading his vocals in a profound way. Producer Rod Millwood has constructed the perfect Hip Hop sounding anthem. The one song with lyrical vigor and vinegar is “Trouble” which could be the most real Hip Hop track released on an Indie level. “This might be the first song dealing with the issue of a man confronting his experiences in life,” Myers states. “I’ve never really heard that in a song.” Refusing to sugarcoat his feelings, the title track “Infinity” manages to say it all about the possibilities in life.

Though Myers has been friends with comedian, Kevin Hart, he has also known producers and executive producers Millwood, Andrews and Wilkerson for many years, this is the first collaboration with all four of them on one project. “We just worked so well together,” Myers says of Millwood who produced and went back into remix the entire Infinity full length CD. Millwood has also done tracks for Kevin Hart, Mark Simmons, Patti Labelle and Peaches and Herb. “I prefer working with a producer who know their way around a console in the studio, and Rod is one of those guys that can anything in the studio,” he says. In addition, the producer added both an introduction and a CD ending bit with comedian, Kevin Hart. The CD in between is a danceable soundscape for the lyrically versed listener.

Using simple words to express complex feelings is the best way to describe the entire Infinity CD. Myers proves that not only is he an exceptional music artist, but his skills as a songwriter is impeccable in this industry today. “Whenever I start to write lyrics, I think it’s important to be true to your words,” Myers says. “When I started working on the ‘Infinity’ CD, I realized that in my life, I am by far my own worst enemy. Writing that songs that way on this album is my way of dealing with life.” Myers ends by saying that “it was just a pleasure having Rod in the studio. I think the outcome was an amazing CD from beginning to the end.”
