Bands For Freedom Foundation, Inc. Bolstered By High-profile NFL Celebrity Endorsements

Orem, UT (PRWEB) February 21, 2005

Bands For Freedom Foundation, Inc. today announced a major influx of support from well-known National Football League (NFL) players and personalities in its efforts to raise funds for the Armed Forces Relief Trust (AFRT) and thereby support the American men and women in uniform.

18 past and present NFL players added their names to the Bands For Freedom “Heroes Page,” an online list of supporters for the U.S. troops via the Bands For Freedom Foundation and the AFRT.

Terrell Owens, all-star wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, tops the list of supporters. Owens is a five-time NFL Pro Bowl selectee and made big news during the 2004-2005 season by returning to play in the Super Bowl despite and ankle injury and at the behest of team doctors. Also supporting the U.S. troops and Bands For Freedom is Michael Irvin, all-everything wide-out for the Dallas Cowboys and current ESPN analyst. Irvin and Owens are ardent supporters of numerous charities and were recently seen wearing the patriotic wristbands at the 2005 Pro Bowl in Hawaii.

Ahman Green, the Green Bay Packers’ top-rated running back, is another high-profile advocate of Bands For Freedom. Since coming to Green Bay in 2000, Green leads all NFL players in yards from scrimmage (7,598) and rushing yards (5,685). Quarterback Daunte Culpepper of the Minnesota Vikings also wears the red, white and blue wristbands. Culpepper lead the league in 2004 in passing yards with (4,717) and 39 touchdowns (best in the National Football Conference). His quarterback rating was second best in the league to Peyton Manning.

The growing list of Bands For Freedom supporters includes the following:

Sam Adams, the Buffalo Bills’ 335-pound nose tackle;

Steve Atwater, retired Pro Bowl safety for the Denver Broncos known for his hard-hitting style;

Mitch Berger, the New Orleans Saints’ veteran punter;

Kris Brown, the current NFL place-kicker for the Houston Texans;

Mike Golic, nine-year NFL veteran defensive tackle, current ESPN commentator and co-host of ESPN radio’s “Mike and Mike in the Morning;”

Tony Gonzalez, the Kansas City Chiefs’ all-star tight end with more than 100 catches this season alone;

Ted Hendricks, eight-time Pro Bowl participant and Hall of Fame defensive end;

Warren Moon, 18-year NFL quarterback for the Houston Oilers, was a nine-time Pro Bowl quarterback;

Mushin Muhammad, Carolina Panthers’ most widely utilized receiver;

Ed Reed, Baltimore Ravens’ safety and 2004 NFL Defensive Player of the Year;

Ike Reese, a first-time Pro Bowl selection and valued linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles;

Lito Sheppard, up-and-coming cornerback for the Eagles;

Tra Thomas, the Eagles’ three-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman; and

Jeremiah Trotter, Philadelphia’s physical and explosive middle linebacker.

“We are grateful to have so many NFL heroes supporting our cause,” said Steve Cloward, president and chief executive officer of Bands For Freedom. “But, anyone can do this, which is what we think is so great about these wristbands. You don’t have to be a millionaire or a sports hero. You just have to recognize the great service being done by the troops and then support them by wearing the Bands For Freedom wristbands.”

The creators of Bands For Freedom are donating 100 percent of its after-cost revenue to the Armed Forces Relief Trust (AFRT) to aid soldiers and their families. The AFRT has a proud history of providing needed funds for soldiers-in-crisis. Soldiers who must travel back to the United States for a funeral, the birth of a child or other emergency can turn to the AFRT to access the money they need to travel. Soldiers and their families can also apply for interest-free loans from the AFRT to help with bills while their family member is away serving their country.

Bands For Freedom wristbands are similar to those made popular by the Lance Armstrong Wear Yellow Live Strong Foundation. According to the Lance Armstrong Foundation, more than 32 million Live Strong Wristbands™ have been purchased. The new Bands For Freedom wristbands were created to bolster support for the war on terror and U.S. troops who sacrifice for freedom.

The wristbands come in both youth and adult sizes and can be purchased at http://www.bandsforfreedom.com. For more information about Bands For Freedom, please visit http://www.bandsforfreedom.com or call (866) 217-5595.

About Bands For Freedom Foundation Incorporated

Created in 2004, Bands For Freedom follows the lead of its predecessor, Freedombands, Inc., and has become an enormously popular supplier of patriotic silicone wristbands that come in red, white, blue and desert camouflage, as well as a marbled band with combinations of all three patriotic colors. The wristbands are marked with the word “Freedom” and are designed to aid Americans in making a respectful and unified statement in honor of the men and women of the armed forces. Bands For Freedom donates all after-cost proceeds to the Armed Forces Relief Trust.

About The Armed Forces Relief Trust

NFL Superstars Put Faith and Family First at Kurt Warner?s Ultimate Football Experience

Manasquan, NJ (Vocus) March 12, 2009 -?

For one glorious day in the Arizona sunshine, they got to experience what it must be like to be Larry Fitzgerald, streaking downfield on a ?go route? and looking over your shoulder to find a perfectly placed Kurt Warner spiral, as a nation of NFL football fanatics cheers.

They were salesmen and warehouse supervisors and web designers and CEOs, and on this day they were sharing Kurt Warner?s first and foremost passion. No, not winning an NFC Championship over the likes of the highly favored Carolina Panthers and Philadelphia Eagles, then going to gridiron war with teammates Anquan Boldin and Edgerrin James against the eventual Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers. Instead, they were giving back to their communities under the auspices of Kurt and Brenda Warner?s First Things First Foundation, an organization that provides a wide array of community benefits, primarily for children, and has literally helped thousands of underprivileged families over the years.

Over the course of a year that saw Kurt Warner go from Matt Leinart?s training camp back-up to the NFL Pro Bowl quarterback directing the most exciting fourth-quarter comeback in Super Bowl history, the two-time NFL MVP has never let his focus stray from his primary guiding principle: faith and family first.

His annual charity event, Kurt Warner?s Ultimate Football Experience, is now in its sixth year of making a big difference in the lives of deserving kids. Held at the Arizona Cardinals? state-of-the-art training facility, this celebrity-filled flag football tournament brought 10 corporate-sponsored teams from across America?including ProSource.net, WalMart, Insight, University of Phoenix, Arizona Cardinals, and Joyce Meyer Ministries – to compete for glory on the gridiron with current and former NFL stars. In addition to Kurt, the other pro football stars who gave it their all for this great event were Anquan Boldin, Brian Griese, Brad Johnson, Matt Leinart, Sage Rosenfels, Josh McCown, Dave Krieg, Rodney Peete and Chris Miller.

?It was a kind of real-life Fantasy Football experience,? said Danny Collier, a website content developer for leading supplement superstore ProSource.net. ?Just to be out here, catching passes from a Super Bowl winning quarterback is a big thrill. And to be doing it in the service of a great cause like Kurt?s First Things First charity is an honor in itself.?

In addition to contributing to the Warners? charitable cause, Collier?s employer, ProSource.net, did its part to ensure peak performance on the gridiron by providing plenty of high-performance nutritional supplements for pros and amateurs alike to refuel with between games. Supreme Protein, another event sponsor, also drew plenty of attention from the event participants with its award-winning protein bars.

At day?s end, there was a familiar face on the winning team, as the Kurt Warner-led Joyce Meyer Ministries team emerged victorious over a Sage Rosenfels-quarterbacked ProSource team, 42-32. ProSource team captain Bob Chinery was encouraged by his squad?s effort, saying, ?Last year we were pretty competitive, and this year we improved considerably. Next year, maybe we can do even a little better. We started the tournament with Brad Johnson under center and he was absolutely flawless. His pinpoint accuracy from 40 or 50 yards away was just incredible. There?s no question that his consistent precision passing gave us a huge advantage throughout the day. But more importantly than the competition itself, we need to commend Kurt and Brenda Warner for making this wonderful event happen. We sincerely appreciate having the opportunity to contribute to their great cause of helping children in need. Kurt and Brenda are incredibly giving people who serve as a tremendous inspiration to us all. At the same time, we?d also like to extend thanks to Sage and Brad and all of the other great NFL stars that went out of their way to make the event an unforgettable one for us all.?

For these generous athletes, sponsors and their teams, the Ultimate Football Experience represented the best of both worlds?the opportunity to play America?s favorite game with some of its greatest players?all in the spirit of giving.

David Nasser, Third Day’s Mac Powell, Chris Seay, and Todd Phillips Partner with Bluefish TV to Create Adult Bible Study Kit

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) April 6, 2010

Are adult Bible study classes and small group ministries really that important in the church today? Bluefish TV has spoken with thousands of denomination pastors who have expressed that they are vital to the mission of the church.

Every week, millions of believers gather to study God’s word, pray together and care for each other. These groups hold many churches together. And just like in college or seminary, the curriculum matters. Bluefish TV’s goal is to create solid content that is the catalyst for discipleship and life transformation.

“If I took Spanish class for 15 years and never spoke it outside the classroom, people would think I am crazy,” said Brian Mosley, President of Bluefish TV. “We set out to create these three Bible studies to help people not just talk about their faith, but to live it out.”

Why Jesus? features an interview with American Idol semi-finalist, Jason Castro, and includes teaching from author and minister David Nasser. Hosted by Mac Powell and filmed on location all throughout Israel, Nasser answers the most important question every person will have to answer: Why should I follow Jesus?

Keep Climbing features an interview with NFL Pro Bowl tight end, Jason Witten, and is taught by young adult pastor and author Todd Phillips. Todd leads a team to Russia to climb Mount Elbrus, the tallest mountain in Europe. He uses their perilous trek as a backdrop to explore how God works through the challenges in life to build character.

Prodigal Perspectives features an interview with Major League Baseball all-star, Josh Hamilton and his wife Katie, and includes teaching from Chris Seay, pastor of Ecclesia Church in Houston, TX. Chris teaches from the story of the Prodigal Son in the Bible through the eyes of the younger son, the elder son, and the father as performed in separate, dramatic films by professional actor, Jason Hildebrand.

“From Israel, to Russia to backstage in a theater, our team loved creating three distinct and unique studies that can help bring the Word of God alive,” said Mosley.

Bluefish TV will continue to create quality resources that lead to life transformation and help send people out on mission.

The 2010 Adult Bible Study Kit is available to preview and purchase at BluefishTV.com along with hundreds of other resources for adults and youth.

About Bluefish TV:
