The Top 25 Hottest Tickets in College Football Week Seven

Austin, TX (PRWEB) September 19, 2007 -

Several weeks into the 2007 college football season and a glance at the hottest college football tickets reveals which teams are on the rise and which are falling. The Top 25 List began posting ticket prices a few weeks before opening games. Comparing current ticket demand to prices posted weeks ago, this week’s Top 25 List exposes which game tickets have had the greatest changes in price over the past month, which games are fans wishing they had purchased a month ago and which games are fans wishing they had waited to buy.

“The hottest tickets are LSU and USC right now,” says Rafael Rivas, Vice President of Sales for TicketCity.com. “Bama is close behind them, but the demand for LSU games and USC games is really heating up. Florida is in there too, particularly for their game against LSU.”

The average ticket price on the LSU versus Florida game is currently at $ 723.00 per ticket. That is just slightly down from its peak last week at $ 772.00, but up 70% from its price on August 10th. Then, the average price for LSU/Florida was only $ 426.00 per ticket. For USC, both their Pac 10 rivalry games against UCLA and Cal have crept up 20% over the past month. The average price on the USC/UCLA is currently $ 518.00 per ticket up from $ 440.00 and Cal is at $ 405.00 per ticket, up from $ 328.00.

So what is driving these prices up so fast? And when is the best time to buy tickets for the big game?

Rivas says, “It’s a supply and demand business. When the top teams are winning, people want to get out to see them play. And when you put two top teams together, it can send the demand through the roof like we’re seeing with LSU/Florida. That game could help decide who is going to play in the National Championship, so people want to be there (Tiger Stadium) to see it live.”

Randy Cohen, CEO of TicketCity.com, advises, “There isn’t an exact science to knowing the precise best time to buy tickets for a hot game. When teams are winning big, it can send the prices higher. But that isn’t always the case, and there other factors involved that can influence the price of a ticket.”

The principle factor is the demand from the fans, which can be adversely affected not just by losses, but by poor performance on the field. Explains Cohen, “If a team continues to squeak out games they should be winning easily; sometimes the fans unhappiness causes them not to turn out as strong for future games.” And conversely, if an underdog wins some games against higher ranked opponents, it can raise the bar on their future match ups.

Other factors that can have an affect on the price of tickets are the size of the stadium, the number of tickets available on the market, the weather forecast for game day, the date and time of the game. “More people turn out for a game when the sun is shining and temperature is perfect,” says Rivas. Those ‘perfect Fall Saturdays’ make the experience at a game just that much better.”

But with some games peaking in price, some others have dropped significantly over the past month. The price of the Notre Dame versus USC game in South Bend has steadily declined over the past month. On August 10th the average ticket price was $ 950.00 per ticket, and today it is at $ 527.00 per ticket. Similarly the price of the Notre Dame versus Boston College game has dipped from $ 661.00 per ticket, a month ago, to just $ 297.00 per ticket today.

Even the prices for the huge rivalry game between Ohio State and Michigan are down significantly. In early August the price per ticket hovered near $ 1000.00 per ticket, and today it is half of that price at $ 526.00 per ticket. This is the game that last year was the #1 hottest ticket in college football.

“Notre Dame and Michigan’s early struggles have really dampened the market on their games,” says Rivas. “And Florida State’s loss to Clemson has had a similar affect on them. I still expect the games involving these teams to be big, because they are all big time programs. But the prices definitely won’t come close to where they would have been if the teams were still undefeated.”

“If you’ve never been, this might be the year to finally see that Ohio State/Michigan game,” adds Cohen. Assuming Michigan doesn’t turn it around and run the table in conference.”

TicketCity.com releases this week’s (September 17th) list of the top 25 hottest games of 2007 based on average ticket price. The list was accumulated by compiling a majority of the available tickets on the secondary market throughout the entire country. The secondary market is comprised of over 800 established ticket brokers, and every fan who is listing extra tickets to sell.

Prices will continue to fluctuate throughout the 2007 season and TicketCity.com will continue to update the hottest games list from week-to-week. View the top 25 games list on the TicketCity.com web site at http://www.ticketcity.com/Top-25-Games.html.

CollegeFootballStars.com Releases 2005 Player Guide for Upcoming College Football Season

(PRWEB) July 10, 2005

CollegeFootballStars.com recently released the much-anticipated 2005 Player Guide on its website. The Player Guide is available for $ 7.95 and can be accessed online through a subscription purchased at http://www.collegefootballstars.com.

The Player Guide is the only pre-season college football publication dedicated solely to the nation’s most outstanding players, or what the website calls “Stars”. In total, there are 150 Stars profiled in this year’s edition. The Player Guide accounts for the best quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers from all teams competing in Division 1A college football. Each Star is hand-picked after careful analysis by the CollegeFootballStars.com editorial staff.

The Player Guide is widely popular among college football fans of all types. Casual fans, diehards, as well as college fantasy football GM’s all subscribe to the Player Guide.

Included in this season’s Player Guide are Adrian Peterson, Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, Omar Jacobs, DeAngelo Williams, Vince Young, Chris Leak, Laurence Maroney, Jarrett Hicks, Ted Ginn, and Marshawn Lynch.

About the 2005 Player Guide

Each Player Profile contains an abundance of information and analysis of an individual player. Included in the information are the player’s school, height and weight, their year in school, career statistics (including fantasy-only stats not available anywhere else) as well as each player’s 2005 game schedule. The analysis is made up of three parts – a synopsis of what a player’s statistics say about their performance, what to expect from the player in 2005, and some other useful facts.

It is from these elements that the CollegeFootballStars.com editorial staff then rates each player on a scale of one to Five Stars (Five Stars being the “best of the best”). CollegeFootballStars.com explains in detail why each player qualifies for their given Star Rating. Ratings directly correlate with expected production (yardage totals and touchdowns) in the upcoming season. Biases such as player popularity and playing in major conferences do not factor into a player’s Star Rating.

Among the other valuable features included with a membership to the 2005 Player Guide are CollegeFootballStars.com’s Positional Analysis, an extensive statistical comparison of all players at their position, and position-by-position rankings from top-to-bottom.

About CollegeFootballStars.com

CollegeFootballStars.com is a membership website that publishes both the Player Guide and the Season Pass before each season for college football fans. Both publications are unique because they focus on college football players, not teams. Founded by two life-long college football fans, the website boasts members from all over the world.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) June 17, 2011

LeadsOnline, an online investigations system used by thousands of law enforcement officials across the country to solve crimes, is proud to announce the fourth annual Future Leaders Scholarship award winners.

The LeadsOnline Future Leaders Scholarship aims to support the effort law enforcement officials put forth everyday to bring peace and justice to communities by supporting the educational ambitions of the next generation of leaders. A total of $ 5,000 in college scholarships has been awarded to seven students who created and submitted an original video about the benefits of LeadsOnline to law enforcement agencies and crime victims across America.

?We were really impressed with all of the videos this year. We could tell each applicant really enjoyed creating an original production. The making of the video also helps students better understand the work that law enforcement investigators do every day.? said Dave Finley, CEO of LeadsOnline. ?The Future Leaders Scholarship is just one of the many ways we get to show our appreciation to the investigators who serve our communities.?

Applicants wrote, produced and submitted a one-minute video designed to increase awareness among law enforcement agencies and public officials about the LeadsOnline investigative systems.

LeadsOnline is the nation?s largest online investigative system used by more than 4,000 law enforcement agencies to recover stolen property and solve crimes. Property including jewelry, firearms, sporting equipment, electronics and collectibles with high sentimental value to the owner are all found by detectives using LeadsOnline. Detectives search for the items and suspects using a variety of parameters, including item descriptions and serial numbers. When an item is sold to a reporting business, the product information is entered in the LeadsOnline database and is immediately viewable by participating law enforcement agencies across the country.

Applicants are college-bound high school seniors or current college students in law enforcement families. In order to be eligible for the scholarship, a close family member must use or supervise users of LeadsOnline investigative services in a law enforcement. LeadsOnline investigative services include TotalTrack, SelectSearch, FastFind, Metal Theft Investigations System (MTIS) and LeadsOnlabs MethMonitor.

About the 2011 LeadsOnline Future Leaders Scholarship Award Winners:

College-bound high school seniors

$ 1,000 winner: Megan Marshall | Plain City, Ohio

Megan Marshall is a senior at Fairbanks High School who created a funny and entertaining video titled ?LeadsOnline Man?. In the video, LeadsOnline Man instantly saved the day by locating a stolen IPod. Megan?s video demonstrates the ease to which LeadsOnline helps detectives solve crimes daily. Beginning this fall, Megan will attend Bowling Green University where she will major in international business and business management with minors in Spanish and entrepreneurship. Megan learned about the LeadsOnline Future Leaders Scholarship from her father, Sgt. Mark Marshall of Worthington Police Department. Sgt. Marshall has been in law enforcement for more than 20 years.

$ 1,000 winner: Robin Rinder | Norman, Oklahoma

Robin Rinder titled his LeadsOnline Future Leaders Scholarship video ?Thank goodness for LeadsOnline?. The crime victim in his video was relieved to find out that LeadsOnline could help locate her stolen property. The son of Norman Police Department?s Sgt. Rob Rinder, Robin enjoys baseball, basketball and fishing. He plans to continue his baseball career in college and ultimately follow an entrepreneurial path.

$ 1,000 winner: Ashley Smith | Kokomo, Indiana

Ashley Smith made her LeadsOnline Future Leaders Scholarship video a family project. Enlisting the help of her brother, mom and dad, together they created a video where the police officer (played by her father) stops a burglar in the act, and then explains how LeadsOnline has been helping law enforcement catch crooks and cooks since 2000. Ashley plans to attend Ball State as a pre-med student and then continue on to medical school to become an obstetrician. Her interests include music, travel and the outdoors. She is also active in Student Council, Spanish Club, Band, National Honor Society and her youth group.

$ 250 winner: Kimberly Simpson | Bardstown, Kentucky

Kimberly Simpson took a straightforward approach to her LeadsOnline Future Leaders Scholarship video ?How to: LeadsOnline?. In less than 30 seconds, she demonstrated how LeadsOnline gets the bad guys, every time. The daughter of Officer Tim Simpson with Bardstown City Police Department, Kimberly plans to attend Bellarmine University and study criminal justice as a pre-law student. She is a National Honor Society member and enjoys acting and musical theatre.

$ 250 winner: Joshua Robert Ward | Pleasanton, Texas

After Joshua Ward collaborated with his dad, Sgt. Jeff Ward (San Antonio Police Department), he created the video titled ?Welcome to LeadsOnline?. In his video, the Pleasanton High School senior recreated the scene of a burglary and then explained how LeadsOnline would help solve the crime. Joshua will attend the University of San Antonio in the fall to study health care or physical therapy. His hopes are to play college football, possibly go the NFL and then be a physical therapist. Joshua is a member of 4-H, Future Farmers of America, Christ for Life, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and his church band.

Students currently attending college

$ 1,000 winner: Morgan Mason | Orion, Ill.

Following her love for animation, Morgan Mason created the video ?Alan?s Surprise? in which she drew out each frame of her stop motion video telling the story of a criminal who was arrested for burglarizing a home. Morgan is the daughter of Officer Scott Mason who has served with Moline Police Department for 21 years. A student at Blackhawk Community College, Morgan enjoys sports, reading, writing, art, animation and people.

$ 500 winner: Jonathon Solis | Plano, Texas

Jonathon Solis learned about the LeadsOnline Future Leaders Scholarship from his dad, Senior Cpl. Al Solis with the Dallas Police Department. After learning how LeadsOnline helps to catch crooks, he thought it was only fitting to title his video ?S-U-C-C-E-S-S? because success in investigations is what LeadsOnline brings to detectives. Jonathan is an international business major at West Texas A&M University who would like to pursue a career in law enforcement at the national level.

About LeadsOnline: LeadsOnline is the nation?s largest online investigative system used by more than 4,000 law enforcement agencies to recover stolen property and solve crimes. Each day, millions of items are added to the LeadsOnline database by businesses including second-hand stores, scrap metal recyclers, pawnshops, and Internet drop-off stores across all 50 states. Those records are instantly available to law enforcement agencies, meaning crimes can be solved in seconds, not months. The LeadsOnline system, compatible with the NCIC, serves as an indispensible, efficient, and money-saving resource for detectives because it provides a cross-jurisdictional, instantaneous, and accurate database that stops criminals from escaping detection by selling stolen items in another city. An official eBay partner, LeadsOnline helps prevent illegal transactions on the eBay website by giving law enforcement access to the world?s largest online marketplace through automatic upload of all eBay transactions into the LeadsOnline database. LeadsOnline also includes LeadsOnlabs, a system for tracking those involved in the illegal manufacture of methamphetamines; a Metal Theft Investigation System designed to track copper and other metal thefts; and cross-checks names of pawn customers against the OFAC SDN list of known terrorists and narcotics traffickers. Each year, LeadsOnline is credited with recovering millions of dollars in stolen goods and solving thousands of crimes that are often associated with bigger crimes, such as homicide, identity theft, and arson. Based in Dallas and led by President and CEO Dave Finley, LeadsOnline works with thousands of agencies throughout the country, including the New York City Police Department, the Dallas Police Department, and the San Francisco Police Department. http://www.leadsonline.com

2009 College Football Performance Awards Announces November Trophy Watch List

Davidson, NC (PRWEB) November 11, 2009

The College Football Performance Awards, HOME of the World’s Largest Crystal Football Trophy and College Football’s Most Scientifically Rigorous Conferments, proudly announces its 2009 November Trophy Favorites. The compilation is a rough watch list for 14 annual CFPA player trophies. All Division I FBS players are eligible for trophies at their respective positions. The November Watch List is the final watch list leading to the CFPA Trophy Recipient announcement on January 11, 2010. Roughly 20 performers are listed for each of the 14 CFPA trophies. Performance evaluations continue throughout postseason bowl games, and players are not preemptively eliminated from trophy consideration as they are with midseason balloting-based semifinalist and finalist lists.

About the College Football Performance Awards:

The purpose of the College Football Performance Awards is to provide the most scientifically rigorous conferments in college football. Recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams.

As prominent scholars from a wide variety of disciplines note, CFPA eliminates the politics and biases that vitiate balloting-based awards. Furthermore, CFPA is the only awards organization to receive praise from both Republican and Democratic White House officials for promoting objectivity and fairness in college football. Harvard Society Fellow and distinguished sports economist Andrew Zimbalist writes, “By employing a careful, vetted empirical methodology, CFPA promises to set straight many of the wrongheaded, arbitrary, and exclusionary methods currently employed to assess player awards in Division I FBS college football.”

Statement from Executive Director:

“The College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) recognizes the importance of careful observation and methodological rigor to scientific integrity. CFPA’s annual selection process involves both an extensive review of the existing data, literature, and evidence and a determination of statistical significance prior to conferment. Similarly, CFPA’s rough watch lists acknowledge noteworthy performance without preemptive elimination. For example, the 2009 November Watch List includes Division I FBS interception leaders DeAndre McDaniel and Rahim Moore, who were eliminated from consideration for several balloting-based awards. CFPA opposes all forms of selection bias, including unnecessary exclusion – yet another reason scholars regard CFPA as the vanguard of a new zeitgeist of objectivity and fairness in college football,” states Executive Director Brad Smith.
