Carolina Panther’s Steve Smith Endorses Democratic Candidate Jeff Doctor for North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District

Charlotte, NC (Vocus) March 23, 2010

Steve Smith will guest host the Jeff Doctor for Congress Campaign Kickoff Dinner on March 25, 2010 at the Aloft Charlotte Hotel. The NFL star and longtime friend of Doctor’s is motivated by his commitment to his community. “Jeff is focused on bringing jobs back to the 9th District and that?s very important” Smith said.

In a recent interview Jeff Doctor stated, ‘People are tired of the Washington style politicians driving this district in the wrong direction. 16 year incumbent, Sue Myrick has been asleep at the wheel not working to protect a strong economic presence in this region. I want to protect the businesses that exist now and accelerate the focus on helping local entrepreneurs create jobs’

Jeff Doctor is honored by the endorsement. ‘This isn’t Sue Myrick’s seat in congress, it belongs to the people of Mecklenburg, Gaston and Union counties,’ Doctor said.

Doctor is the son of a Vietnam Veteran and a proud Native American. He and his wife Allyson live in Charlotte and have an 11 year old daughter, Chloe.

Browns’ Shaun Smith Hosts Celebrity Bowling Tournament

Cleveland (PRWEB) March 28, 2008

Cleveland Browns’ defensive tackle Shaun Smith has made a career of knocking down quarterbacks. But on April 12th, Smith will try his hand at knocking down another target – or ten – at the inaugural Shaun Smith’s ‘91 Ways’ Foundation Celebrity Bowling Tournament 2008, at the Corner Alley in Cleveland.

The four-year NFL veteran will be joined by other members of the Cleveland Browns, as well as other celebrity guests, in the tournament benefiting Smith’s ‘91 Ways’ Foundation, assisting youth in Cleveland and in Smith’s hometown of Brooklyn, NY. Having just completed his first season with the Browns, where he posted career-highs in sacks and tackles, Smith is eager to make a difference in his new home.

“Cleveland has been wonderful to my family and has given me the opportunity to grow as a football player and to serve an amazing community,” Smith said. “I hope this tournament will have a tremendous impact and with the help of our sponsors and the Corner Alley, I believe it will be a huge success.”

The Shaun Smith’s ‘91 Ways’ Foundation Celebrity Bowling Tournament will take place Saturday, April 12th, at the Corner Alley, located at 402 Euclid Ave., in Cleveland, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Aspiring bowlers can register their teams of five at http://www.shaun-smith.com. Each team will have the opportunity to play with two celebrities, as well as receive five passes to a VIP reception prior to the tournament. The event is open to the public with general admission tickets available at http://www.ticketweb.com. A silent auction featuring sports memorabilia and a new car will be held during the event with proceeds benefiting the ‘91 Ways’ Foundation. Sponsorships for the event are still available. Organizations interested in sponsoring a lane, or in other opportunities can get more information by calling 937-837-5200.

About the ‘91 Ways’ Foundation:

As the son of a high school teacher and police officer, education, discipline and community involvement runs deep in Shaun Smith’s blood. The goal of Shaun’s ‘91 Ways’ Foundation is to enrich and empower the lives of youth and their families through national and local partnerships with organizations that provide a safe environment in which moral values, emotional stability and academic excellence are cultivated.

Since his arrival in Cleveland last summer, Shaun’s Foundation has partnered with the Cleveland Browns to host a Thanksgiving Turkey Give-Away and initiated an educational partnership with A.J. Rickoff Elementary School, resulting in a proclamation from the Superintendent of Cleveland Public Schools, honoring Shaun for his charitable work with the school. Pittsburgh Ad Agency, Smith Brothers, Sends Frownie? Pity Party to Seahawks? Mike Holmgren

Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) February 11, 2006

With all the whining and griping Seattle Seahawks? coach Mike Holmgren has been doing about the officiating in Super Bowl XL, Pittsburgh-based Smith Brothers Advertising reached out to send their sincere condolences to Mike at Qwest Stadium. What did they send? A special package filled with the famous Frownie? Pity Party that they created for their client, Kings Family Restaurants ? along with an XL Frownie? t-shirt, of course.

The Frownie? ? a thick, chocolate-frosted brownie with a white icing grimace ? is Kings? dessert ambassador who spreads Kings? ?We Make A Mean Dessert? promise. Frownie? was launched with billboards asking the provocative question? ?You Want a Piece of Me?? The Frownie? Pity Party is a six-pack of Frownies? to go.

?We know Mike (Holmgren) wants a piece of the NFL refs, but we?re suggesting that he instead turn his energy toward our Frownie? Pity Party. It is the perfect and safe way to find strength and enjoyment in difficult times, like 40th birthdays, job layoffs ? and yes, even Super Bowl losses? said Miles Smith, a partner at Smith Brothers. ?It?s amazing what the human spirit can endure when you?re scarfing down a fudgey delight like Frownie?. Most of all, we hope Mike gives himself permission to cry ? because it is his party, and he can cry if he wants to.?

As Smith Brothers prepared their package at a local Kings location, a crowd gathered and began chanting??Who Dey?! Frow Ney!?
